Saints’ Drew Brees agrees to five-year, $100 million deal

“It’s about damn time.” Drew Brees agrees to a whopping five-year, $100 million deal with the Saints. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen was first to report the deal. Brees will average a record $20 million annually, more than Peyton Manning’s $19.2 million. By 2014, Brees will have $60 million guaranteed. “Deal is Done! Love you, Who Dat Nation. See you soon!” Brees tweeted Friday afternoon. Brees passed for a record 5,476 yards and league-high 46 TD’s last season. So New Orleans, you can finally sigh in relief, your superbowl MVP is back.

  1. I have to apologize to the New Orleans Saints organization. I was sitting hear talking bad about them wondering what the hell was on their minds not paying Brees his money and what he is worth; evidently they were getting their money straight so they can give him what he’s worth …and then some! I think the next blockbuster QB contract will be in 2015, when Aaron Rodgers comes to the “Money Plate”. That will be interesting.
